Ring systems

In cooperation with Mitsubishi we developed the L System to meet the demands on a RD pile. This L System does not have structural welding, as opposed to the A System since the ring bit set is threaded around the piping so it rests directly on the moving ring. Since this has a higher steel quality, and is just as thick or thicker thickness than the pile, we can guarantee that what the pile is resting one has a longer lifespan than the rest of the pile. The L System also makes room for coupling sleeves on threaded piping. This is now the clearly predominant Mitsubishi system in use. The LL system is a further development and optimization of the L system. About 30% less material reduces the environmental impact, reduced outer diameter of the rings increases drilling speed. LL is fully compatible with L, LL can be drilled with L-pilots and vice versa. Since the summer of 2021, LL will be implemented gradually and will eventually replace the L system in anything but tougher conditions.

The A System was the original ring bit drilling system from Mitsubishi. You recognize this system by the rings threaded into the casing on the longer pilot bits and their double impact shoulders. The double impact shoulders – where the one strikes the casing shoe, and the other strikes the ring bit – is why the A System is often used where ground conditions are especially difficult. The A System simply runs longer than other ring bit drilling systems.

The Venturi System was developed for sensitive ground conditions and for requirements of minimal impact on nearby areas. The difference, compared to regular pilots is in how the air is controlled in the pilot bit. The Venturi pilots are compatible with the L System ring set, and you can also use a customized ring set. The Venturi pilots are also effective when drilling through wood, and in heavy clays.
